On Sunday Mum and I headed to London for the day on the train.
We usually go at Christmas time for a few days of shopping and seeing the sights and beautiful Christmas lights, but sadly this year we couldn't make it!
So, instead we booked the train in November for now, in advance it was £7.15 each, each way. So £14.30 return! 3 hour journey, due to track works, but 7 + hours in London was brilliant.
We do love squeezing in as much as we possibly can, so planned our route before we went, as well as the tube journey.
We got there at 11.30am, grabbed day tube tickets and set off to Knightsbridge first.
Here, we went to our favourite shop in the world, Harrods!
I am a loyalty card holder and had receive an email to say there was an extra 10% off instore that day, on sale items too! Excellent choice of day then!
As we made our way to the gift shop, we got a basket when entering and loaded up on everything we wanted.
I got myself a new iphone cover, a block note pad for my desk, a cute crown pen and a towel. The towel I have been wanted for absolutely ages, to use at the beach on holiday, as it is handy for face, feet and pillow cover! :)
Mum got the strawberry jam with champagne we love and an iphone case for my Auntie.
We then trotted off downstairs to the Food halls, in search of champagne for special occasions this year. In there we walked past the bakery section and stopped to take in the delights. Of course we had to have something from there. We got an apple muffin with almonds on. Delicious!
Loaded up with the champagne and all other of our goodies, we set off for Leicester Square, in search of M&M World there.
We found it and went straight to the personalisation section. Here you can have M&Ms printed with various messages, pictures and clip art. It is my brothers birthday this week, and did him some "Happy Birthday" sweets and pictures of presents on them.
You then pay, load them in the machine and press the button to get them printed! It is so cool!
The M&Ms come in a pot, with a bow on top of the overflow ones and placed in a bright yellow bag. Such a great and unusual present!
After this we sat and had lunch, while the Swiss clock chimed and the charms did their dancing on top!
Next up was Fortnum& Mason, Regent Street, then through to Carnaby Street for Benefit!
benefit Cosmetics is my favourite brand, and this shop is filled with amazing delights. Sadly it was a quick stop, one pose with Gabby and then we were off again.
As it was only 5pm, we went for a coffee before getting the tube at Piccadilly circus back to Kings Cross. We grabbed some food to take back with us, then settled into our seats to return home.
We managed to fit quite a lot in and everthing that we set out to see! We will definitely be booking again, but maybe for summer so that we can enjoy the sights going home too, instead of the darkness!
